While the Hills has a revolving schedule of events year-round, December is one of our favourite months – with its twinkling, holiday artisan markets, illuminated houses and community carols nights.

Here are five events that will make your Christmas – yet another reason to enjoy your Adelaide Hills property and lifestyle.

Then, in the afternoon at Keith Stevenson Park, the carols kick off. It begins at 5.00PM with a wide range of children’s activities, including seasonal face painting. At 7.00PM, the singing starts with local talent taking to the stage to lead the carols. The night finishes with a fireworks’ display, enjoyed by people all over Mount Barker.

The Lobethal Lights

And, of course, Lobethal. These lights need no introduction. But they’re worth putting on this list because it’s the largest community Christmas light display in the southern hemisphere. And, to add to the stunning luminosity, your family will love the events, food stalls and pageant.

Oh oh oh… we forgot one! Pick your favourite tree at Santa Trees, a Christmas Tree Farm in Gumeracha. Bring your little ones up to the farm to choose their very own tree.
