1. Black Hill Conservation Park

A stone’s throw from Morialta is Black Hill, where you’ll find Ambers Gully Track and Sugarloaves Trail. It’s great for beginners and experienced hikers. Just like Lofty, this circuit follows part of the Yurrebilla
Trail and offers a view that encapsulates Adelaide’s beauty. Oh, and the best part? The trail has a waterfall, gorgeously uncrowded.

2. Belair National Park 

Looking for an all-day hike? Head to the Adventure Loop Trail in Belair National Park. It’s a 12.6-kilometre circuit that passes WW2 memorials. Pack lunch and end your adventure at Long Gully or
Playford Lake. Echidnas and wood ducks might join you, surrounded by wild flowers and bushland. 

3. Sturt Gorge Recreation Park

Slightly further south from Belair is Sturt Gorge. Most of the trails in this park take between two to five hours. The longest route, River Trail, is peppered with rivers, waterfalls, flowing creeks, and rocky gorges. While nearly 10 kilometres long, the natural beauty is a wonderful antidote.

4. Mylor Conservation Park 

Give your body a natural morning high with the 2-hour Mylor Conversation Park Loop. This 2.3-kilometre trail is perfect when you’re looking for a challenge. If you’re making good time and would like to extend your hike, this connects to the Heysen Trail and onto the Aldgate Valley Nature Walk.

5. Scott Creek Conservation Park  

Shouldered between Jupiter and Cherry Gardens, this conservation park is in the heart of Scott Creek. It’s a 3-hour trail that takes adventurers along its east side. Coined ‘one of the hidden gems of the Adelaide Hills’, Scott Creek (secretly) rivals Lofty.
